Apple Employee’ Leaks iPhone 8 Features A Day Ahead of Highly-Anticipated Launch Event

As Apple was gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated iPhone 8 this week at the company’s multibillion dollar new headquarters, it seems that a disgruntled employee has leaked the iPhone 8 features, specifications and name.

The model names were discovered and tweeted by a game developer, Steven Troughton-Smith, from a release of software code.

According to 9to5Mac, there are reports suggesting that the new iPhones would be called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. According to the site, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be basic upgrades to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These phones may support lass back panels, a new micro-processing chip and wireless inductive charging.

The rumoured iPhone 8 that has made the Apple fans excited is now expected to be known as iPhone X. But to the company’s surprise before the highly-anticipated event, a ‘disgruntled employee’ of the company leaked iPhone 8 features or iPhone X features, according to BBC.

Prominent Apple Blogger John Grubber said that he is ‘nearly certain’ the leak was intentional.
‘Someone within Apple leaked the list of URLs to 9to5Mac and MacRumors,’ Grubber, a blogger known for his coverage of the company, wrote in a post on his blog.


The highly awaited smartphone of 2017, iPhone X is expected to launch without the traditional home button on the front. Bloomberg reported that a series of gestures can control the phone. The iPhone X will come with a 5.8 inches OLED bezel less display loaded with accommodation for the front camera, earpiece and 3D sensors. Face recognition

A new ‘Face ID’ system will take the place of the latest phone’s fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is about to vanish – and you’ll be able to use it to authenticate Apple Pay, as per the code.

Wireless charging

As per the rumours, Apple iPhone X or Apple iPhone 8 will come with the wireless charging feature. It will feature the Qi wireless charging standard but Apple’s phones will comes with the special Apple chargers.

Goodbye Home button, hello Home bar

You will not see any Home Button any more. Instead, you will be able to witness a bar of virtual buttons, which you would be able to use to navigate in and out of apps.

New ‘All screen’ Look

Every leaked prototype device has shown off a new ‘all screen’ look and the code leak confirms that at least one new device with have an edge-to-edge HD screen.
It will also sport a longer 18.5:9 aspect ratio (similar to Samsung phones) and a native resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels.

Smarter power button

With the Home button done away with, the power button is stepping up a gear that with double presses power button activating Apple Pay, and holding the button down activating Siri.
