In a shocking event that might remind you of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone allegedly exploded and burst into flames in a store in Karnataka capital Bengaluru, reports suggest. As reported by Tech Case in an article on the matter, the owner of the said Redmi Note 4 device – Arjun – had allegedly gone to a local store named Poorvika Mobile as he was facing some issues while inserting the SIM into his Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The report also suggests that Arjun had purchased the phone from the same store in June.
A CCTV footage was also doing the rounds of the Internet with a report well stocked with billing details of the said smartphone. The report also suggests that the Redmi Note 4 exploded as soon as the worker at the shop tried to open the SIM tray to insert the owner’s SIM card. No one was injured while the mishap happened.

Smartphones bursting isn’t something we are witnessing for the first time. Even a tech giant like Samsung has gone through the embarrassment of an exploding phone. But, Samsung Note 4 explosions happened due to an issue with its battery. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 exploded into flames out of nowhere.
When reached out, Xiaomi told that they are investigating the matter. “At Xiaomi, customer safety is of utmost importance to us. We have reached out to the customer to investigate this matter, and are awaiting a further response,” a Xiaomi spokesperson said.

Now, as per an update from Tech Case, the customer – Arjun – has got the replacement of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 from Poorvika store in Bangalore and he is very happy with Xiaomi’s service.
